Walk at night beside the river to see the glowworms along the banks.

Opapaka Pa
The walk to Opapaka Pa has currently been closed by the Department of Conservation due to land slips.

A walking track in a Scenic Reserve near Waitomo Caves Village takes you through native forest and up to an eighteenth century Maori pa site. There are great views from the top.

Waitomo Lookout
Take a ten minute walk uphill through native bush and limestone outcrops to the Waitomo Lookout, with views over Waitomo Caves Village.
This hill is the top of the Waitomo Zipline Park.

Mangapohue Natural Bridge
Take a short walk from the carpark to view this majestic limestone arch.
The Mangapohue Natural Bridge, Marokopa Falls & Piripiri Cave are all approximately 30 minutes drive from Waitomo Caves Village, along a winding and narrow rural road.

Marokopa Falls
Take a ten minute walk to view this stunning 40 metre waterfall.
Marokopa Falls is approximately 30 minutes drive from Waitomo Caves Village.

Piripiri Cave
Piripiri Cave is a small, dry cave in a Scenic Reserve near the Marokopa Falls and approximately 30 minutes drive from Waitomo Caves Village.
A stairway takes you down to explore the cave. Take your own torch and watch for cave weta.
